Pasta Japanese flavors 

Once in Tokyo, I ate a pasta which for me sound very different from the way I use to eat it. It was a pasta with fermented soy with seaweed and mushrooms different taste but in someway it was good and I did not feel heavy.

So, I did my pasta version with Japanese flavors, I used organic spaghetti, fermented soy, mushrooms and I added crab meat with seaweed. It was very tasty, I enjoyed.


Eu fiz um spaghetti com ingredientes japoneses, bem diferente do que estamos acostumados a comer, usei spaghetti orgânico, soja fermentada, algas secas e cogumelos.. uma combinação que não é para todos os gostos, acredito que tenha maior aceitação das pessoas que comem soja fermentada, o que não é comum no Brasil.

Sometimes you try, and try but it does not happen. I have experience, knowledge, but I have a great challenge I am not fluent in Japanese, so I am not getting where I want … Soon it will be 1 year that I arrived here.

Iam now trying to find a way out, another solution. To relax and try new things I have made below


maybe it is just a new hobby, but it helps me to deal with my hard time and doubts at this moment.

Curry、first dish of the year!今年、初めての作り食事はカレー

Today I did a curry with vegetables (carrots, potato and brocolis) and tikuwa (type of a paste fish) very common at Japanese supermarket, instead of using red meat or chicken. I want to have a more balance diet with less deep fried food and less red meat or chicken.   On  top of curry I put a little of furikake(japanese temper) just to add some colour on it. It was a good and yummy and I did not feel heavy after I ate it.

今日はカレーを作りました、カレーの中に野菜と笹かまぼこを入れました。牛肉と鶏肉は使わなかった、今年、牛肉と鶏肉は食べることを減りたい。カレーの上に少しのふりかけをかけました。食べ物を食べた後、重く感じなかった, 美味しかった!

Hoje eu fiz um curry de vegetais com uma espécie de massa de peixe e bambu, eu quero tentar reduzir um pouco a carne vermelho e frango também, ficou gostoso, e não senti que tinha comido algo pesado, caiu bem 🙂


ブリガデイロ-アルバイト楽しかった!Brigadeiro, part time job in a bar, fun!

This weekend I had a chance to work in a bar in Ookayama, in South of Tokyo. This bar is very cozy and it is very near of the station. Me and my friend we received the customers and serve them some snacks and drinks like Haibooru ( Whisky and Energetic) and I could serve my brigadeiros ( chocolate balls below) to the customers. As the customers are Japanese, no foreigners, it was a great opportunity for me to practice my Japanese and learn more about what the Japanese lives, some of the customers came from Ibaraki ( another city in direction to North ), Yokohama, neighbors who lives near there and my friend friend’s. In addition I could tell them about my country, Brazil.


Neste fim de semana trabalhei num bar em Ookayama ao Sul de Tóquio, e foi bem divertido, além de servir a bebida e as entradas, pude servir o brigadeiro que como escrevi anteriormente adaptei aos padrões japoneses ( utilizo leite e açúcar ao invés do leite condensado). A bebida que servíamos é o que eles chama de Haibo-ru ( uma mistura de whisky com energético) e eles se serviam do sake japonês. Tive a oportunidade de praticar o japonês e conhecer um pouco mais da vida deles, e deles conhecerem um pouco mais do Brasil, para mim uma ótima troca de conhecimento e experiência, coisas que levo para minha vida..

This was a delicious soba tororo, soba is a noodle and it is very famous and delicious in this region of Takao Mountain. とても美味しい蕎麦とろろ

美味しい ブラジル ブリガデイロ Brigadeiro no Japão 

Hoje eu fiz um brigadeiro para dar a alguns amigos e colegas aqui no Japão, mas como aqui não é tão fácil encontrar leite condensado fiz apenas com leite, açúcar, chocolate e manteiga. Aqui também não achei muito fácil granulado então usei cacau e amêndoas em pó para cobrir o brigadeiro.

Today I made “brigadeiro”, this is a sweet from Brazil, to my friends and colleagues here in Tokyo, Japan. However I could not find all the ingredients and  the Japanese usually don’t like the  sweet too sweet, so instead of using condensed swiss milk, I used sugar and milk, added chocolate and butter. For topping the brigadeiro I used cacao and almond powder.


Resultado, result 🙂 :

Peru – Arequipa

Second Stop – AREQUIPA

Small city  known as “WhiteCity”, because some of the buildings there are made by  a white stone that are formed by the volcanoes near by the city. My impressions of Arequipa cozy, beautiful, Colca Valley, and mal de altitude.

Colca Valley and Canyons ( Nature and local culture)

Beautiful Colca Valley and Canyons,  we were able to see the deep valley and how the local civilization was able to develop agriculture in high altitude, I believe there, we were around 3700 ms altitude. During this trip we felt a little dizzy ( mal de altitude) due to the high altitude.  We also saw the condores, a bird that we can see only on this region.

Peru ( Oct-Nov/2015)

Great trip to Peru, me and my friends were able to get to know about Peruvian culture, art, nature, the archaeological monuments of its ancient cultures and their delicious culinary.

First Stop – LIMA

My impression of Lima, busy city, with a lot of traffic jam, great food, nice people,  good museums, bad taxi drivers.
